Privacy Policy

Draft last updated October 27, 2026

The short version

  • Ringsworth answers calls to your number with an AI assistant. To do that, we process the audio of those calls and turn it into transcripts and summaries.
  • We use your data to run the service for you: screening and routing calls, placing calls you ask for, and showing you your history.
  • You choose how long recordings, transcripts and robocall records are kept.
  • You can export your data or delete your account at any time.
  • We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

Ringsworth (“Ringsworth,” “we,” “us”) provides an iPhone app and a hosted service that answers and screens calls to your phone number using an AI assistant (called “Charlie” by default). The service is operated by [legal entity name and address].

In this policy, “you” means the account owner and anyone the owner adds to their account (an admin, a human assistant or a viewer).

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address, and sign-in information.
  • Your line: the phone number you forward to Ringsworth and related routing settings.
  • Instructions for your assistant: what you tell the setup assistant or type into settings, such as who should always get through, your working hours, and notes about people.
  • Contacts you choose to sync: names, phone numbers, email addresses, groups and photos from your iPhone contacts, plus any notes, tags or VIP flags you add.
  • Calendar availability: if you allow it, the app sends the times you’re busy over the next two weeks. Event titles are only sent if you turn that on.
  • Tasks: the goals you give Charlie for calls it places for you, and your answers when it asks you a question.

Information created when the service runs

  • Call records: numbers, caller ID names, times, durations, how each call was routed and why, and the outcome.
  • Call audio: the audio of conversations between callers and the assistant, processed in real time so the assistant can listen and respond. Recordings are stored if recording is enabled for your account.
  • Transcripts and summaries: text versions of calls and the assistant’s notes, messages and summaries.
  • Spam signals: robocall scores and the reasons a call was stopped, and any corrections you make (“not spam,” “block”).
  • Device and app information: device model, iOS and app version, push notification tokens, and call quality measurements (such as network type, jitter and packet loss) used to keep calls working.
  • Settings history: a version history of your assistant settings, including who made each change.

3. People who call you, and people Charlie calls

When someone calls your number, the assistant answers and talks with them, so their voice, what they say, and their phone number are processed and stored in your account as described above. The same applies to people the assistant calls on your behalf. Calls placed by the assistant always begin with it saying it is an AI assistant calling for you.

Recording and AI-call laws vary by place. Ringsworth includes settings to announce recording to callers. As the account owner, you are responsible for using these settings in a way that complies with the laws that apply to you. [Review: default disclosure settings and jurisdiction-specific notices.]

4. How we use it

  • To answer, screen and route your calls, and to ring your devices or your cell.
  • To take messages, propose calendar events, and place calls you ask for.
  • To show you your call history, transcripts, summaries and recordings.
  • To stop robocalls and spam, including checking a caller’s number against reputation information.
  • To keep the service working: monitoring that forwarding and ringing work, and troubleshooting call quality.
  • To improve your own assistant: when you grade a call or correct a decision, the setup assistant may suggest changes to your settings. Nothing changes without your approval unless you turn on automatic small changes.
  • To communicate with you about your account and the service.

5. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We share it only:

  • With service providers that run parts of the service for us under contract, such as telephone network and calling providers, speech and AI processing providers, cloud hosting, and push notification delivery. They may process call audio and text only to provide their service to us. [List of subprocessors to be published.]
  • With people on your account, according to the role you give them.
  • When required by law, or to protect the safety, rights or property of our users, the public or Ringsworth.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.

6. How long we keep it

You control retention in the app. You can set separate retention periods for call recordings, transcripts and robocall records. When a period ends, the data is deleted. [Default retention periods.]

Account and billing records may be kept longer where needed to meet legal obligations. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule. [Backup window.]

7. Export, deletion and your choices

  • Export: request an archive of your calls, transcripts, recordings and contacts from the app. We’ll notify you when it’s ready to download.
  • Delete a call: deleting a call removes its record, transcript and recording.
  • Delete your account: you can delete your account from the app. This deletes your data, except what we must keep by law.
  • Permissions: contacts, calendar and notifications are optional and can be turned off in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Your rights: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, or to object to some processing. Contact us to use them.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and the principle of least privilege to protect your data. The app can require Face ID to open. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we’ll notify you as required by law. [Review: encryption at rest and other specifics.]

9. Children

Ringsworth is not directed to children, and accounts are for adults. [Minimum age.]

10. Changes and contact

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
